Community

Northwest Landing is an award winning 3,000-acre mixed use planned community located in the city of DuPont, Washington. Land uses include industrial, office and commercial development, homes, schools, parks, open space and trails. It incorporates 1,000 acres of residential neighborhoods , 1,000 acres of open space with 1,000 acres zoned for commercial/industrial use.

Rather than having a series of suburban subdivisions and unrelated office and industrial parks, Northwest Landing was planned from the outset to grow into a cohesive community.  Master planning requires a regional vision where the "part" becomes a piece of the "whole."

On completion, Northwest Landing will include homes for approximately 12,100 people and jobs for 20,800 people. Northwest Landing is located midway between Tacoma and Olympia on I-5 Exit 118, about 50 miles south of Seattle.

DuPont's charming small-town character, tree-lined streets and distinctive Craftsman-style architecture have all been incorporated into Northwest Landing's design, a point that has sold many new homeowners.   Northwest Landing's homes emphasize porches rather than garages.  Today's home buyers want more than a house.  They want a neighborhood where they can put down roots.  They want to feel connected to their neighbors and participate in their community.

Parks

  • The Village Green is a 2-acre green with a Craftsman-style clapboard clock tower.  Many community-wide events are held here.
  • There are also pocket parks in every neighborhood just steps from your front door.  Most have grassy play areas and children's play equipment.
  • Plantings on the green and throughout Northwest Landing are selected to highlight native vegetation as well as seasonal color and flowers.
  • A 24+ acre park to start construction in late spring 2006.  Amenities to include, basketball court, multipurpose field, playground, picnic areas, additional trails and a wetland outlook.

Trail System

We invite you to walk through Northwest Landing and enjoy its natural beauty.  Approximately 1,000 acres of this 3,000 acre community are set aside for parks, trails and open space.  Ten miles of trails wind through Palisade Village and Yehle Park Village -- all of them fairly level and easy to navigate.  Loops connect with Center Drive and DuPont-Steilacoom Road.  As Northwest Landing develops the trail system will expand so that people who live here can get to work, school, worship, parks, historic sites, shopping and recreation without necessarily using their cars.

Residential Owners Association

Community events are staged through the Residential Owners Association and the City of DuPont.  Everything from a walking club, Fourth of July parade, concerts on the Village Green, Halloween contests, picnics and more have become favorites with the community.
