Venture Bank will relocate to DuPont

Lacey-based Venture Bank has signed a purchase and sales agreement for a site on which to construct a new headquarters at DuPont Station, a mixed-use retail and office complex in Northwest Landing.

"We're thrilled to have Venture Bank anchor our planned commercial development community," says Mike Rabstoff, a partner of Dupont Station Partners.

"We are disappointed Venture Bank was unable to find a location in Lacey," says Lacey city manager Greg Cuoio. "We know they worked hard to do so. They have been a wonderful community supporter in Lacey and we're certain they will continue to be one even after the move to DuPont."

But Lacey's loss isn't expected to become DuPont's gain for at least two years, says Venture President Jon Jones. That's how long it will be before construction of the planned 50,000 square foot building takes place.

"Our expansion to a new facility just 10 minutes north of our current Lacey headquarters will give us the room to consolidate some administrative functions that are now spread among a number of locations," says Jones.

Venture Bank's notable neighbors in the DuPont Station development will include Intel, State Farm Insurance and the multi-million-dollar Northwest Landing retail and residential complex, managed by Quadrant Corp. Its decision to build in DuPont follows close on the heels of its recent acquisition of Washington Asset Management Co. Tacoma LLC, a Tacoma financial services company that combined with Venture's existing financial services division, forming a new company called Venture Wealth Management. Both moves are in keeping with the Bank's strategic plan, which focuses on growth along the I-5 corridor, while retaining its Northwest-centric orientation. Called Lacey Bank when it formed in 1979, the bank was renamed First Community Bank in 1981. It became Venture Bank in 2003.
